Hema Bose of Maison Bose, the luxury consultancy that has helped build Gaurav Gupta's international celebrity profile, emphasized the synergy between Cardi B and the designer. "Cardi is fearless, larger than life, and completely unapologetic, and Gaurav’s designs carry that same sense of scale, drama and emotional volume," she stated.
But here's where it gets controversial... The design process wasn't without its last-minute adjustments. During the initial fittings, the hood was designed as a more complex structure. However, once Cardi began rehearsing, it became clear that the original design wouldn't allow her the freedom of movement she needed. The team quickly rethought and re-engineered the hood, showcasing the adaptability needed in the world of stage fashion.
On stage, Cardi B delivered an 80-minute set, blending hits from her early career with tracks from her latest album. She greeted the crowd with "As-salamu alaykum!" and expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you for having me in your country. Everything is mashallah." Her enthusiasm for the Kingdom was evident throughout her stay, as she praised Saudi hospitality and even went shopping at Riyadh’s Solitaire Mall in her abaya.
